Mini Encounter class (unit 6)
For them to see what an encounter is.
To get to meet the teachers, and maybe learn vocab they didn't know.
For the teacher to get to know the prospect or student.
Procedure (7-12 minutes)
Point at an object a student has, say (the colour it is) Then point at something else in the classroom, then write on the board, It's blue. What is it? they will need to keep guessing until they get the right answer once they have, they all take it in turns to point at something and we all guess.
Write on the board - Name? Married? Single? Gesture to the prompts and Elicit questions from the students. Concept check - I (don't) have a husband / I'm not married. Ask the student next to you the questions, then he will ask the person the other side of them and so on until everyone has said the questions.
