Main Aims

  • To learn about the adverbs of frequency which we use in our daily routines. To learn how frequently the event they describe occurs, the meaning, which adverbs go in which position , the rules governing their usage and the exception to these rules
  • To provide clarification and practice of the meaning, position, form, and pronounciation of adverbs of frequency by doing exercises both individually and in pairs

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide a speaking practice of the adverbs of frequency
  • To provide an accurate conception of the adverbs of frequency, using the Ss activities

Procedure

Warmer (0-5 minutes) • To set lesson context, generate interest and engage the students

Provide the students with worksheets with HO question asking them about their daily routines ask students to provide answers shoeing how frequently they do these daily routines

Exposure and highlight (6-12 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through sentences of daily routines

To write the answers of previous worksheets on board with the adverbs of frequency underlined. ask students about the parts of speech of each sentence Ask students about the underlined words

Clarification (12-25 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form, and pronounciation of the target language

Ask about the tense of the sentences Clarify the meanig of adverbs of frequency Write them on board Give examples clarify both kinds the adverb and the adverb phrase and their position in sentence Ask questions about their place Ask questions about how frequently each event occurs

controlled practice (25-29 minutes) • to concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

chest the worksheets with gap_fill exercise ss work individually to answer the exercise and then they peer_check the answers together check with the whole class to see if there are any problems.

freer practice (29-30 minutes) • to give students wider perception about the adverbs of frequency through rxceptions

Give students some sentences includes exceptions and includes one wrong sentence Ask students to search for the wrong one at home
