  • To practice vocabulary around travel and holidays

Procedure

Warmer (4-5 minutes) • To generate interest in the topic and introduce vobabulary terms.

Show pictures of various tourists places and activities. Have them match the place with the title. Check in pairs Project answers on the board.

Exposure 1 (7-8 minutes) • To review verb patterns for speaking activity.

Explain that they need to circle the correct answer. Have them check their answers in pairs. Give them an answer key.

Exposure 2 (10-12 minutes) • To practice speaking in a semi-controlled activity

Ask students to work in pairs. Choose a secretary. Choose a runner. There are 4 questions outside. CCQ How many questions are outside? How many questions will the secretary write down? Who's a Runner? You will go outside read and tell the secretary the question. Will you need a pen? Demo: Run outside and come back in. Is it going to snow on Wednesday? Runner goes back and gets the next question. Are you doing this slow?

Exposure 3 (8-10 minutes) • To provide freer practice speaking and using vocabulary.

Ask each other the questions? Use your vocabulary. Ask me question 1. .... I hope to go hot air ballooning in Cappadocia. Are you using your vocabulary from here? Are you asking each other these questions?

Exposure 4 (8-10 minutes) • To provide even freer practice of speaking

Regroup students into threes. Tell students they are having visitors from Australia. Agree on three things to do or places to visit in Turkey with your friends.
