To provide clarification and practice of words in the context of with the same phoneme /ei/.
To provide specific information listening practice using a text about story in the context of birthday present.
Procedure (24-45 minutes)
1- For the GTK, T brings a case of chocolate and picks one then say: "Hi, my name is RAHMA" #CCQ ! OKAY, my dears, take chocolate then say : MY name is....., OKAY?? So, take what?? and say what?? Then, she gives the case to the first S to do the same. Each S is going to pic a piece of chocolate and say his\her name. 2- T plays a video about the sounds of letters. To make it fun, t may repeat it again while Ss move or dance in a whole class activity.
1- T holds a box (that contains some pictures of the TL) and ask Ss what they expect to have in the box.(this just to engage Ss and increase the suspense) 2- T picks up the first picture_ using a magical stick that adds a funny atmosphere_ and stick it to the board, then pronounce it. 3- T repeats that with the rest of the words. 4- T drills chorally and individually. (the japanese input session)
1- T writes down the words just beneath each picture. She clarifies the TL with different colors. 2- T points to the picture then to the word while Ss pronounce it. 3- T asks Ss about the common feature among all words.( the a_e) 4- T points on each (a_e) using her magical stick. 5-T removes the (e)s to form other words e.g " tape-- tap" 6- T compares the difference and and sing a song to drill.
T sets the task in the course book, then gives FB.
T divide the class into pairs giving a number for each pair. Then, they will be divided into two parts(A,B) Each one of team A is going to pick a flashcard from the board then go to his\her partner. The partner will say the word of the picture. Finally, (A) will stick it again to the board.
