Description

In this lesson,I 'll start by introducing pronounce,meaning and pronunciation through different listening excercises.Three audio tracks will serve to Ss' general comprehension,pronunciation practice of TL as well.The class will end up free speaking practicing on parties.

Materials

Abc HO1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8(Teacher-made and SB2) ,Audio tracks 1.35,36,37(Inside out, intermediate,SB2),WB

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification and practice the pronouns(everywhere,somebody,nothing,....)through listening and speaking (anecdote).

Subsidiary Aims

  • TO provide listening practice on pronunciation and fluency speaking practice.

Procedure

Lead in (8-10 minutes) • To set the lesson and engaged Ss

To start with warm greeting .Write some senteces on the board refers to pronouns.For EX. Somebody is coming. ask them Qs (CCQ).do you know who's coming? do you see a special name here? Or Pete puts his pen everywhere. Ask them do you know where is Pete's pen exactly? Or she can't do anything today.Do you know what can she do today?Can she drive today? Can she cook today?T says they aren't clear enough. Are they verbs? that's right,aren't verb.what is their form?yes,pronoun.Mark 3 columns on the board.write people ,places and things on the top of each.Hold up HO1 and ask to help you stick them in a correct place on the board.point to the word and ask them what is it?which columns does it refer? continue to finish all pronouns.Now it's play time;Put a name for every S,for example colors .everyone with same color should stand up in a queue.mix the colored papers with written pronouns on.ask them to pick up that one I shout.then stick it under the correct column.turn back and next S continue until the pronouns finish.(ICQ:who are pink ?ok ,stand here.who are blue? and go on to set the lines.ok guys,how many papers shold you pick?fast or slowly?stick them on the wall?no,good,under correct the column.and...) .After the game I'll cover more details about pronounces.Tell you in Presentation stage.

Building Context (25-30 minutes) • To prepare variety contexts to improve Ss vocabulary and their speaking

As I mentioned in Lead in,I try to narrow each context to more specific area;for example in context of audio track 1.35;i'll show Ss pics of a mum and her son Dylan.ask them Qs to make a brainstorming and CCQ.what's mum doing?is she thinking?is she thinking about baking a cake?or noooo.what 's the matter?He 's Dylan.what do you think about him?Ss say sth. ok listen carefully to understand what's wrong here?why are mum thinking deeply?play the audio track 1.35.Then Ss say sth about mum and dylan.Now give them HO4 to listen again and underline the true words.before doing the exercise give them ICQ.do you have to to read? no.do you work in pairs?no,individual.do you have to write the answers?no,choose the best one.do you read ?no ,listen.now play the audio.(pause on the correct answer and then play that Ss check their answers).at the end ask them do you know anybody like Dylan?Ss say sth and I ll get my feedback. Next context is going to be lyrics in pop music.give them HO5,the script of track 1.36. give them ashort time to take a look for 1 min.ask them how many minute?then I ask them are there any unusual words there?what are they?gonna,wanna,gotta,and ain't. Tell them they're lyrics,words of a song.the're used in special short words.Rewrite them on the board : gonna:going to - wanna: want to - gotta : got to - ain't : isn't (though here used of I'm not.Play the audio track 1.36 and ask them to repeat.For introducing next context ,set the class in 8 groups of 5 Ss. The context is a kind of anecdote,through listening.First hold up the first pic of Paul and say the Ss, this is Paul.Paul likes parties very much.He has been in a special party recently.CCQ: who's in the pic? does he like playing football?no, likes going to parties.what kind of party you think?Hold up next pic of Paul.wow !!! Is she Madonna? Ss :no ,he 's Paul in a fancy dress party.Do you know whose party was it?what was the theme?now listen to Paul's talking to understand what's the story?Play the audio 1.37 .then repeat your Qs and get the answers. of course most Ss didn't get whole the listening ,so give them HO7,the script.ask them as you are listening again ,match the Qs with the answers.after 3mins ,one of each group should tell me the answer.so Do you have to read the paper? no, look and listen. are you going to answer the Qs? no, match them .By your own?no, in groups.and....At the end we have a free speaking practice focus on a party they've been to .give them HO9.ask them to look at the Qs and answer them in shortly(indv).after 2 mins they should stand up ,walk around the class and speak about their parties with their friends.I'll move around and correct them.

Presentation

I clarify the new lexis at first in the context,words like anybody.someone,everybody, and ...Use them in sentences and mark on the board.Ask general Qs about the sentences to make a brainstorming ,for example , nobody came to my party. Q:can you find a person in this sentence?could you see a person in my party?no.so what does it mean? yes,it means no people.Is it a verb?can you clean this word and put a name instead?so what is it ?right, pronoun. we can use them instead of nouns if it's not clear.Give them more examples of different kinds of these pronouns.Divide the board in 3 columns,mark :people,places and things on the top of each column.Show the Ss colored copies of pronouns one by one.ask them where should I put it?so they help you to stick them in their correct place. After that clean the board and draw another 4 columns.write names on each column but more specifictly(all people,things and places - unspecified people, things and places - unlimited people ,things and places - no people,things and places).Set them in 4 groups, put the pronounces on their table and ask them to arrange the words and seperate them in 4 groups. then tell me why. after that I stick them on the correct place.Notice them that

practice (3-8 minutes) • To provide controlled oral or written practice focus on TL accuracy

I'll prepare some contexts through listening and reading.Ss should do many exercises by contexts to practice theTL.ICQ ,CCQ ,will be done to help us to improve Ss'TL.I mentioned most details in previous stages.

Production (5-6 minutes) • To provide freer oral practice and focus on using the TL more fluently.

I've prepared HO9. ask them to take look at the Qs again .but in this time think about the parties which they 've been to.just for 3mins.they can answer the Qs very short.then stand up ,walk around and tell their parties to each other.I walk between the Ss to help and correct them .
