To give students controlled speaking practice to develop spoken accuracy in the context of past experiences.
To scan a text for specific information
Procedure (45-55 minutes)
I will draw a black time line on the board. In order to see if the students understand the grammatical item I will use a partially-drawn timeline. I will write a sentence in the board and I will invite a student to come up to the board and try placing it on the timeline. I get other studnets in class to comment and maybe suggest alternatives
FİND SOMEONE WHO GAME! The students will receive a handout with nine questions. Each student should find who was where the previous day. Mingling activity.
The students will scan three paragraphs in order to choose the correct words in the following exercise.
İ write on the WB five statements about my childhood. The Ss should follow the same pattern by writing sentences that represent their past experiences. Then. they work with their group and try to find the ones that are true for them.
While speaking, I am going to take notes and if time allows, the last five minutes we will correct any potential errors.
