Haunted House, there is/are
Elementary 2 level

Description

In this lesson, students will extend previous knowledge of 'there is/are' to 'there were/was' with subsidiary items of prepositions of place and movement. They will first engage in an extended discussion from murder to haunted places, read about proclaimed haunted hotels and do comprehension tasks on the text, then move on to a listening task of a personal experience in a haunted hotel with added practice of prepositions. The lesson rounds off with an analysis of the grammar point, and finally a speaking task describing things in a hotel using 'there was/were'.
