To teach grammar about used to, be used to and get used to in the context of sleeping
Listening to provide specific information
Procedure (28-46 minutes)
-T hangs a picture on WB -T asks Ss to predict what problem the guy in the picture is having. -After being contextulized T asks Ss to work in pairs and disscuss if they have sleeping problems. -T then pre-teaches some vocabulary if necessary .
-T distributes HO and gives instructions. -T asks ICQs if necessary . -T plays 3 tracks about 3 people having different sleeping problems. -While Ss fill the gap, T will be monitoring and ready to give help when needed -When Ss finish T will ask them to check together -In case Ss couldn't memorize the information well , T will replay the tracks
-T distributes HO containing instructions for the next activity -T asks Ss to work in pair and interview each other -T monitors while Ss are engaged -Deal with any vocabulary that aroses -when Ss are done provide some FB (Who sleeps in a completely dark room ....etc)
-T distributes HO and gives instructions -Ss should work individually -T monitors to provide help if needed -When Ss are done, T will ask them to check each with other -T then clarifies TL's meaning by discussing the exercise's answer. -T will use some CCQs
-After they finish the exercise and clarifying the meaning , T will highlight the form "used to+infinitive" "didn't use to" and "Be/get used to+ing" on the WB using different colours -T will write a worng sentence to check Ss' understanding .
-T distributes some HO and asks students to complete the tasks individually. -T sets a time limit and starts monitoring -When Ss are done, T does a WCFB
-T asks different Ss to write the 3 sentences on the WB while playing the listening track -T asks where does stress fall on the three sentences -T highlights the linked sounds and cirlculates the stressed words -Have Ss to practice by saying the sentences quickly
-T changes Ss seats -T distributes HO that provide last activity's instructions -Ss will be put in pairs and will be discussing the information given in the paper -T have some FB before class finishes
