To provide fluency and accuracy in the context of story telling
Procedure (37-43 minutes)
Teacher will show a picture on the board. Teacher will elicit the some words related to the picture and tell them that it is related to one of her traumatic memories from four years ago. she will give them some pieces of paper with some sentences written on them. The teacher will group them and ask them to put the sentences into right chronological order in one minute. Then she will ask someone to read her sentences in the right form.
The students have the sentences in the right form on another paper in the form of a context .The teacher will ask them to underline examples of simple past,past perfect and past perfect continuous, and show the order on a sample timeline, and then ask them some CCQs such as Which event happened first? Which one was in progress when the other one happened? How long was it in progress? Did it stop during that time?
The teacher gives each group of three one handout with three pictures and one title for each. They should choose one of them and try to come up with the most interesting story that they can but each of them should try to share one sentence up to the end . The teacher reminds them that it is not just the matter of time but the correct structure.They have 5 or 6 minutes to finish their stories. Now they choose one member who can tell the story the best way to go to other groups and tell the story. By the time he/she finished the others should ask some detail questions. After it finishes ,the teacher, who had been monitoring all the time, asks them to vote which story was the best. The winners must come to the board and tell their story to the class and other groups should ask them some questions related to the structure and the story itself. If necessary they will be corrected by the teacher In the end they will be appreciated by a prize.
