Procedure (3550 minutes)
Teacher greets his students and tells them if they can remember him . After writing his name in the middle of the WB, he will ask them whether they can remember his parents name as well , and same to his brother's and sister's. Teacher will write the names separately on the WB and will them ask them to predict their age . He will then write a couple of sentences to put the class in context . Ex : Who's Amina ? She's Mohaned's mother / How old is she? She's 48 years old / What's her job ? she's a journalist
Teacher will distribute HO to students and will ask them to focus on the pictures and the names , T will then ask some questions like : what are their names ? where are they from ? To have them predict what the exercise is going to be about. t will have different answers and will have a WCFB by asking others for ex : Do you agree ? . Teacher will ask them to carefully listen to the track while answering in pairs . Time will be set to a limit of 6mn . T then asks Ss to answer while checking altogether. This exercise will help to practice after being put in context
Teacher will then show the second HO by chesting it , he asks them to pair and complete the sentences, then he starts distributing HO . Ss have 5 minutes to finish . When they're done teacher will point to students to answer individually and will check the answers with the rest . T will distribute another exercise , Ss will be given instructions just as the first exercise and will be asked to follow his own information o the WB in case they face difficulties.This exercise will familiarize students of answers when they're asked about their families.
T will draw his family tree as a demonstration of what they will be asked next. T will then ask everyone to do the same individually . After everybody finishes . T will ask the students to check together, when they are done , T will have them in a big circle and will give his instructions as follow : Ss will make a circle in order to play a game called "the invisible ball" . T will be the one to throw the ball to one of the student, T then aks a question for ex : He points at Cezer and asks the student with the ball , what's his sister's name ? S with the ball will then answer , but if he/she doesn't know the answer , they will ask Cezer for the information. Time is set for 7 minutes.
As a last stage , T will have students practice their speaking skills by playing an activity called find someone who . Teacher will give his instructions as follow : Students will be given a handout for each in which statements are written in one column ; on the other blank columns , students are supposed to write the name of the student in which one of those statements is true for , however each student is supposed to formulate a question about each statement. For ex: find someone who has a sister(statement) Do you have a sister ? (student's question) . After understanding how the activity is played , teacher asks everybody to stand up and mingle and start asking and answering each other . T will give them a FB of how they have done the activity and will try correct their mistakes altogether if there are any
