Main Aims

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T shows some pictures of a city she would like to go. Ss guess which city it is. T asks Ss to think why she likes this city and talk about the places there Have Ss talk in pairs to make sentences . She likes .... because there is/there are... T writes some sentences on board ( there is/ there are) to highlight useful language for coming productive tasks.

Pre teach • To provide difficult vocabularies to speak about their favourite places

T sets a task for Ss to get familiar with the vocabulary they will use in the next stage. T gives a HO contains new vocabularies that they need for speaking task. T gives HO Ss in pairs match the words to pictures for 2 mins 1. tower 2. palace 3. amusement park 4. bridge T monitors Invite Ss in pairs to match on WB T drills words chorally.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

T provides a dialogue between a customer and travel agency. Ss practice and fill in the gap of the missing dialogue

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

T sets the task in a tourist agency. T gives different brochures about cities (Paris, Tokyo, Miami) to Ss Ss in pairs gives a name to their travel agency Ss 'guess the place' and give a description of the cities in brochures, design the prices

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

T gives a HO for a speaking activity and asks Ss to take turns and act as a customer and a travel agent. T asks Ss to visit to a tourist agency to choose a city for their holiday Ss stand up and mingle Ss put tick on the things that are in this city. T monitors and writes notes for errors to correct. Feedback- Ss share ideas and opinions Ss choose the city they want to visit.

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

T uses the notes that she has taken in the previous stage to highlight and any errors in use of language and writes them on the WB to provide an open class feedback. Elicit correction from the Ss before correcting them
