Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will try to elicit "park" by using some flashcards then ask students some park names in Istanbul in order to give the context of singular, plural. I will refer back to the text from the previous lesson. Lead in : Tell me a museum in Istanbul , Sabancı Museum/Istanbul Modern/ Tell me a park in Istanbul , Yıldız park , Ulus park and etc. Tell me a …………

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Students will match sentences to photos then I will remind the text again explain the gap filled activity and make sure with ICQs then I will give the reading text again as an gap filled activity and students work in pairs. After peer check, I will project or give answer key and WC read sentences aloud.

Highlighting (4-5 minutes) • To clarify the singular and plural forms of the target language

I will divide the form as singular and plural on WB and WC will decide about the photo to stick next to the sentences by using some of the CCQs. I will use the colourful pens to highlight a, some, a lot of.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

I will try to elicit the meaning of a, some, a lot of by using CCQs and the form from the students and divide the form as singular and plural. Ithe a/an and the -s. I will stress on a/an and -s to make sure about the contraction and nominate students to read aloud with students by drilling. After that I will give HO1 and ask studenst to read the students' works in pairs then peer check to discuss about the answers and a students AK.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Then I will give the instructions for HO2 they will work in pairs. After peer check, I will stick the answer key on the wall and tell students to check for the right answers. I will write the sentences which students had difficulty or discussed for the correction. At the end, I will do drilling with students.

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

I will stick some photos from Istanbul and Bath on the board which we used throughout the lesson. Before conducting the mingle activity I will give an example and demonstrate the activity with a student. After ICQs, students will start and I will monitor during the activity by taking notes. After the activity I will show some good language examples and work on the correction.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

I will show my example of the sentences and talk about my city then project my text on the board then Ask students where I live. They will tell their partner about their town and the partner will guess where the student live then partners swap roles. I will ask students about their partners town and give feedback after that do error correction.
