Description

In this lesson,student practice the vocabulary they have learned in previous lesson about fashion via some speaking and writing exercises.The lesson starts with a presentation of some pictures on OHP and then elicitation of them with some new words on the board.This is followed by a group work and then the feedback is in a pair work with different partners and after that the teacher gets the feedback.To present the second activity the teacher has a surprise for the students by having weird clothes on to elicit a question from them and this makes another discussion in pairs followed by a feedback.Finally there is some other freer practice through a writing exercise.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (10-12 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

The teacher asks them about the way she has dressed and they have one minute in pair to decide on it.Then she asks two of them for the feedback.While they are engaging in the activity , the teacher asks them some questions to elicit some words related to their handout, and then they will be given the first handout to work on in pair.They have three minutes to answer then the teacher asks the pairs randomly ,and after each answer she will ask them some CCQs to be sure they have understood the meaning.The teacher presents some pictures on OHP related to previous lesson mixed by some new ones with the same topic of fashion. The teacher elicits the words from the students and then writes them on the board next to each.Then they should stand up, walk around for five seconds and suddenly stop.Now the teacher gives them numbers randomly to make groups of three and sit.This time they will be given a question related to the stuff on the board.The question is " At what age do you think it is OK for men and women to have...?" .Then the teacher writes some expressions on the board to express their opinions such as " Personally i think...","Speaking for myself..."and "It seems to me that...".After the group work the teacher asks them to stand up ;each one choose one person from another group and tells him or her about her partners ideas.Meanwhile in each stage the teacher asks some ICQs to be sure if have got the instruction or not.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

While they are transferring the ideas of their groups to their new partners the teacher changes appearance to raise a question .Before asking the new question she gets the feedback of the current activity and the new one has already started by arising the students curiosity about the teacher' s new look that if it is suitable for this occasion or not.Then the teacher adds some items in addition to this by some more pictures on OHP and they will discuss in pair.Then again the teacher asks them to express their partners ideas.

Productive Task(s) (12-15 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

In this stage , the teacher hands out some tiny colored paper by a statement written on each that they are supposed to say if they agree or disagree with them.Before they start talking ,they must look through some expressions shown on OHP to express their agreement or disagreement .After that they can start .By the end the teacher gets the feed back by asking them to discuss that with the whole class.

Feedback and Error Correction (5-8 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

As the final activity to check if they can use what they have learned in the form of writing ,they will be shown a short advertisement from eBay.In fact they should imagine that they were given one item of clothing for their birthday which they don't like .So they have decided to sell it on eBay.They should write a detailed description,making it sound as attractive as possible. Then some of them will be discussed in the class.
