Procedure (30-46 minutes)
T elicits the context from previous class. Then, T shows HO1s and asks Ss to discuss what they can remember with a partner for 2 minutes. After that, T asks Ss what their partner can remember.
Ss have 3 minutes to match the cutups on HO2s as a group. Then, T gets the answers from Ss and writes them on the board.
T simplifies one of the sentences on the board and elicits which tense is it and why. T gives hints with drawing time lines.
Ss have 2 minutes to complete HO6. T asks CCQs. Students have 1 minute to put the verbs into the past simple on HO3s while T draws two columns headed "Regular" and "Irregular". Individuals go to the board one by one from each goup and match cutups with the correct columns. Then feedback.
Students have 3 minutes to do ex. 1, 2 and 3 on HO4 alone. Then peer check in 2 minutes and feedback for 2 minutes.
T hands HO5s and draws three columns headed "/t/", "/ıd/" and "/d/" on the board. Ss practice the pronunciation and match the words with columns. Then T drills the pronunciation and elicits the rule from Ss.
Ss walk around the room and tell each other their last vacation. And then, 2 minutes of feedback.
