Main Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a question forms in the context of leisure activities
  • To provide fluency speaking practice in Asking questions and interviewing in the context of leisure activities

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide clarification of Interview questions in the context of Fact file
  • To provide product writing practice of a Paragraph in the context of face file/ Leisure and lifestyle

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

1) teacher will make sure SS understand they will be interviewing a partner, they do not know very well. - "Today you will be interviewing a partnered finding out information about them" 2) Teacher will elicit some possible question topics that you can use in an interview -Example: Favorite tv series, sport,book, magazine e.t.c -Teacher will say "What type of question pics can you ask your partner when interviewing" ? - Elicit ideas

Task (12-15 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

1) SS will now work in pairs. Teacher will make groups of 2 according to number of ss. 2) SS will now get given a fact file. There will be information they have to fill out. They have to ask questions in question forms. - "Now you will interview your partner and fill in the information" - "Remember to ask in question forms" 3) After showing. Give handout to SS and tell them to complete the fact file 4) Teacher will sit in the middle and monitor while sitting int he middle if room. 5) Feedback: Any common mistakes heard about form or meaning on the W/b

Wrtting Task (10-12 minutes) • To write a parapgraph about your partners answers

1) SS will now write a paragraph about the answers they have received. - "Now you will all write a paragraph about your partners answers using the fact file you have just filled" 2) Before ss start. Teacher will show example paragraph on the W/b, so SS have an idea 3) For studnets to analysis the paragraph effectively, teacher will point to random sentences and ask what the question of this is. - "this is my paragraph using this fact file""you will have to do your the sam way" - "So what is the question to this sentence "Remember to look at the fact file" -Elicit some question forms - Any mistakes then write the correct form of the question on the w/b. 4) While SS are writing teacher will monitor and help when needed. 5) Teacher will take note of common mistakes and put them on the w/b and do it as a class feedback after the writing

Reading of paragraphs (2-5 minutes) • For ss to read eachothers paragraphs and understand

1) SS will now pass there paragraph about there partner to someone in the class( not partner) and read it. - "Now i would like you to give your paragraph to someone else in your class""Not your partner" 2) Make sure all SS read carefully the paragraph given

Speaking task (4-6 minutes) • To be able to analse and speak about the reading

1) Ss will now say 2 things they have discovered about the persons paragraph they have
