Description

In this lesson ,students will share their ideas about different kinds of interviews and then in specific extreme interviews. Then they will be asked some questions in order to warm-up and will be taught some words related to the topic.After that they will read the text the gist and the detail questions.Via this activity they will learn how to guess the meaning of the new words in a context.They will follow this up with a short speaking activity in groups of three ,discussing their own opinion on the topic.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (8-10 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T will give the students a question as a quick activity to attract their attention to the topic.Then teacher will show them a relevant photo on OHP and ask them some questions by eliciting the meaning ' interviewer ' and ' interviewee '.This way the teacher can establish a discussion in pairs; asking these questions "What do you think is happening?" and "Do you think that the question is the one which someone might really ask in this situation? why(not)?

Pre-Reading (7-9 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

The teacher quickly introduces a few items which the students would need in order to understand the text and do the tasks, for example,'merely' ,'headhunter', 'pioneer' ,etc.

Reading for gist (while reading) (3-4 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading tasks

Students should read the article ascertain the actual answer to the second question in the warmer to check overall understanding

Reading for detail (while reading) (5-10 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading tasks

teacher will draw attention to highlighted words and demo how to guess meaning from context.Teacher will elicit possible meaning from the students for one or two items.Then teacher will ask them to guess the rest in pairs after that she will direct them to ex.d to match the words with their correct meaning . After that students will check the answers together and then they will be given the answers on OHP by the teacher

Post-Reading (10-12 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Teacher will have the students discuss the questions in g and evaluate if this questions would work well in a real situation.In the end the teacher might ask each group or pair to say which are the most and least useful questions.
