In this lesson, students will listen to a interview of a survey as a model for their speaking task, then will clarify the . After practicing the same model for speaking task in pairs they will prepare their own survey and practice it again.

Main Aims

  • To enable students to practice adverbs of frequency in their speaking through productive tasks in the context of healthy lif.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide clarification of frequency of adverbs in the context of healthy life.
  • To provide clarification and practice of positive simple present quetions in a survey in the context of healthy life


Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Teacher asks students to classify the sentences with the pictures of healthy and unhealthy people to elicit "healthy" and "unhealthy" words. Also teacher will introduce the survey.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through listening

Students listen to an audio about a survey interview between the teacher and her friend who are asking and answering the questions of a survey in the context of the healthy life. After initial listening teacher gives students HO1 to choose the answers of the participant. Lastly, peer check, whole class feedback is to choose the answers on the board.

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

Teacher will highlight and clarify the useful language which are simple present positive questions and frequency adverbs from the listening script. Teacher will try to elicit the answers from the students for the meaning and the form and then work on pronunciation. Students work on HO2 and do peer check. After that teacher gives AK and does error correction if it is needed.

Controlled Practice (7-9 minutes) • To check concept and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Students practice the survey in pairs and tell other partner about the first partner through the mingle activity. Teacher monitors and gives feedback and do error correction.

Semi-controlled Practice (10-12 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Teacher tell students they will be a famous person in a healthy life festival. Students pick a famous person name for themselves and work in pairs then discuss with whole class to decide whether s/he is a healthy person or not. During the discussion, people who learned about each other answer the questions.

Feedback and Error Correction (5-6 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

Teacher takes note about the areas which students have difficulty and whole class work on it by working together for error correction and reformulation. At the end, teacher gives last feedback.
