Main Aims

  • To provide gist and detailed reading practice using a text about differences between men and women during doing some activities in the context of Different.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide clarification of words related to shopping and travelling in the context of Different

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in, and Pre_reading (10-15 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I'll start the lesson by showing Ss real objects and elicit the word "shopping" from them. write the word on the board, then elicit again things we can buy like clothes, pairs of shoes...etc the third step is that one of the Ss will hold some flashcards while the others will see the objects in the bags and tell the one with the cards what they have. The student will stick the flashcards to the board.T makes drilling to teach the form and pronunciation. Fourth, Ss will look at the Picture they have then go to the board _as a WC activity_ and match the flashcards with the man or the woman as they saw in the picture. Fifth, I'll ask the students some questions and elicit some information from them. For example, who takes much time during shopping? Who pays much money? Finally, tell them to read the text and fill the gabs in it using the picture.

While-Reading (5-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

Ss will read the text and fill the gabs in it individually then tell the T the main idea. Then they will Listen to an audio and check their answers. They will read it again, but this time Ss will fill the gabs according to their own experience.

Post-Reading/Listening (0-3 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

In pair work, Ss will compare their answers and talk about other situations in which men and women are different.
