Main Aims

  • To provide reading practice using a text about " Spanish festival " in the context of " Las Fallas "

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a " Spanish festival " by discussing the topic and answering the EX in the context of " Las Fallas " also through free discussion at the free exercise
  • To provide Vocabulary clarification, review and practice of "Spanish festival " in the context of " Las Fallas "
  • To provide product writing practice of a " Spanish festival " in the context of " Las Fallas "


Warmer/Lead-in (5-6 minutes) • to enable students to activate prior knowledge about the topic

T talk with Ss about problem related to birth day party and T asks them to give her some idea for preparing party then T expose them for the vocabulary as suggestion an also express the meaning

Pre-Reading (4-5 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

In this stage T focus Ss attention to the photo behind the text and asks them if the photo of the festival was exciting then T asks Ss to think of a festival and write some notes about it in a paper . then T Expose Ss to the main title " Las Fallas " as a Spanish festival then T express the Right pronounce for the Spanish festival name also the name " Jose " T express the right pronounce for the name before reading

While-Reading #1 (4-5 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading tasks

T asks Ss to read the text and find the answer of the question related to the text then T ask Sto check the answer with their partner then T asks Ss to check the answer as take the rule as teacher and T monitoring them

While-Reading #2 (2-3 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading tasks

In this stage T Encourage Ss to complete the summary without looking back at the article then T asks them to check their answer with their partner then T check with with W.C in this part T also check for the second time over the vocabulary during Ss saying the word.

Post-Reading (3-5 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

T asks Ss too write a short summary of a festival they know about and T Remind them to use the summary In Ex :1 as a model . Then T Asks Ss to take turns to read the Summary for each other and the Listeners try to ask a questions at the end to find out further details

T ask Ss to use some word they prefer from the text vocabulary and put them in a promoting sentences about festival then T Give them minute to use these words with people out side the class as a conversation to convince them to share with festival then T asks them after finishing to guess the meaning of some Idiom ,expression , words , proverb . that related to the text also T help them by showing photo for difficult one all these during listening music with some body motion ( for mixing between mental and physical exercise )
