Plan 6 (Newby, M)
My main aim is to teach my students the present continuous for future events.
To provide accuracy speaking practice in a conversation in the context of future arrangements
Procedure (36-45 minutes)
-T will use last week's material that Michael taught about phrasal verbs for future events. -T will elicit the idea of those material are not the only way to speak for future plans.
-T will write a sentence on the WB and will CCQ if the Ss can guess it's meaning. -T will give a handout to Ss and have them work in pairs. -T will have the Ss to peer-check their answers. -T will take a WC feedback.
-T will give a cut-up paper to the Ss about a trip, and will have them write sentences about what their plans are on that trip from the morning till at night. (give one example, remind Ss to write in the same language point by CCQs) (in-pairs) -T will have Ss peer-check. -T will set a context for future events by giving them a modal sentence orally. -T will have Ss to talk in groups about their plans this weekend in a present continuous state. -T will take feedback from each group.
-T will break down the form of present continuous for future arrangements on the WB. -T will do some pronunciation drilling. -T will give a sample sentence and take a WC feedback.
-T will get the Ss to play find some who in an onion ring shape.
