reading a text about music
Upperintermediate, B2 level

Description

In this lesson, Ss are focusing on a reading task. Before this task, Ss would have a small chat about the Qs they see on the slide after they listen to a small piece of music.(think of a song or piece of music that you remember hearing and liking when you were a child. where did you first here it? how old were you? why did you like it?) Then, they will read for gist in exercise b (English File, Upper intermediate, p. 55) and they will also read the text for some specific information in exercises C and E (English File, Upper intermediate, p. 55). finally, Ss will have a freer talk and discuss some questions in exercise F (English File, Upper intermediate, p. 55).

While-Reading #2 (6-9 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading tasks

T asks the Ss to read the text alone again for longer time to find the answers of the Qs in activity E (English File, Upper intermediate, p. 55). Then Ss can share their ideas about the answers in their pairs. T monitors and gets some feed back.
