Description

In this lesson students will learn some vocabulary and their antonym that related to the reading. I will start the lesson by showing a handicraft of dolphin I will tell them something about dolphin that it comes in the reading. Then I teach them the words by pictures,after that there will be a game with picture for learning the vocabulary better. after game the lesson will continue by speak about dolphin,then I will divide Ss to 2 groups by giving them names (Roz and Yas) then I will provide each group with a paper that it s written some sentences of reading in it .I let them to read the paper in 5 minutes then I ask them to come on the board and complete the sentence that I wrote on the board with stick the correct vocabulary.

Main Aims

  • To provide scan reading practice using a text about dolphins dream in the context of vocabulary and their antonym

  • To provide clarification of dolphins dream

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students in reading

I will start the lesson by showing a handicraft of dolphin i will tell them something about dolphin that it comes in the reading and explain some new words for them.

Pre-Reading (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible by teaching vocabulary

I will teach them new words by pictures and ask questions. at first I show them the a picture of polluted water and teach them the word of "polluted" by drilling after that I ask them "can dolphins live in polluted water? No(they answer) " where they can live? they can live in clean water (I answer) then i show the picture of clean water and teach them the word of clean .I will continue the lesson and teaching the vocabulary by asking question and showing pictures Are dolphins" beautiful"?yes Are they" ugly"?no Are dolphins "dangerous" ? Are they" friendly" ? at the end I stick the pictures and words on the board and ask them to spell it.

Game-like activity (10-12 minutes) • To understanding and review the vocabulary through a game

I will divide Ss to 2 groups . then I put the word and the picture on the table and ask one person from each group to come on the board. I will give each of them a dolphins (HO2) that an iron is attached on their mouth , the students should pick up each word that i want , with it .(All the papers have lodestone behind themselves.) example: i will ask them the dolphins can live in clean water they can not live in .......... they should pick up the" polluted." each group that could pick the more paper is winner.

reading (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/

I will continue the lesson by speak about dolphin,I teach them the sentences that come on the reading and ask them about dolphins with out opening the book . then I will divide Ss to 2 groups by giving them names (Roz and Yas) then I will provide each group with a paper that it s written some sentences of reading in it.Then I let them to read the paper in 5 minutes and explain it together.

Post-Reading (8-10 minutes) • To provide with agan opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned through a game like activity

At the end I ask them to come on the board one by one and complete the sentence that i wrote on the board with stick the correct vocabulary. . After that I ask them to open their book ,and ask each of them to read one sentences of the reading from their book . and complete the sentences in their book by pencil.
