Description

In this lesson students learn about some famous places in the world and know historical places more based on reading part. This lesson started with vocabulary part then reading part and then the exercise based on the reading part.

Main Aims

  • To provide gist reading practice using a text about Geography , historical places , countries in the context of russia , bridge , rivers , time

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide clarification of history , geography in the context of long , river , bridge , country

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

greeting and warm up with the students and ask some questions of what they learned from last station and try to make ready their mind for new lesson.

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

First I teach them new vocabulary of the reading part by showing them pictures and maps. Then I tell them to close their books and just listen to CD player. I repeat for them 3 4 times.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

While they are listening to reading part I will write some questions on the board from the reading part and after that wile their books are close they should answer the questions of what they learn from listening to the reading part.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

I will tell them to open their books then wile their listening they should look at their text of their books too. after 2 times I will stop CD player then ask them to read the reading part for themselves then one by one read it aloud.

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Then I will tell them to do the exerice part then wile their books are open they listen to the reading part again and while its playing they say it sentence by sentence.
