Procedure (10-17 minutes)
The teacher activates students' prior knowledge of family-member vocabulary using slides and prompts. Students guess the family members with the help of visual aids and the teacher's support. Teacher-student
The teacher plays a short clip for the students in which the target grammar is used in the conversation. Students watch and listen to the clip carefully so that they are exposed to the target grammar.
The teacher draws students' attention to the target grammatical structure present in the animation's conversation. Teacher-student
The teacher reaches the meaning, form, and pronunciation of the target grammar by asking CCQs and eliciting from the students. Students answer the CCQs based on their understanding of the clip and their prior knowledge, and with the teacher's additional explanations, they move from their prior knowledge toward learning the new grammar. Teacher-student Student-student
The teacher gives students a controlled exercise with limited choices to practice and consolidate the learning of the new grammar. Students complete the controlled practices with the help of their peers and the teacher's guidance, and resolve their problems. Student-student Techer as facilitator
The teacher gives students a less controlled exercise in which speaking is also involved, in addition to using the target grammar (Practices such as role-play). While students are doing these practices, the teacher monitors them and helps them if there are any problems. Students do these freer practice activities in groups or pairs and then present them in front of the class. Student-student Teacher as facilitator
The teacher gives students a relevant and interesting worksheet to practice the grammar outside the classroom. Students complete the worksheets at home and submit them to the teacher by the next session for checking and correcting mistakes. Student-teacher
