To practice functional language related to asking and giving directions
Subsidiary Aims

Practice sentences regarding giving and asking for directions. The sentences are: go past the cinema, it's on the corner, take the next right, cross the road, it's on your left, excuse me, how do we get to central station please.
Procedure (19-22 minutes)
Students will be asked, "Do you ever get lost?" Is it difficult to find directions in the city you live in? Why/Why not?
The students will be given a text regarding giving and asking for directions. They will be given a gist task to match pictures with the corresponding directions, then they will be given a True/False quiz as the intensive task.
Students will be taught the Meaning, Form and Pronunciation of the target language. We will be going over the polite intonation used for the TL.
The students will be given a gap-fill exercise. using the TL. The questions are: Can you _____ me? I’m _____ for Church Street. Do you _____ where Church Street _____? It’s on the _____. _____ the next right. _____ left at the traffic lights. _____ the road. It’s on the other _____ of the road. Go _____ the cinema.
Students will be shown a map with different landmarks. They will be asked to practice asking for and giving directions to the different places in the map
