Main Aims

To provide practice Ss to use key phrases related to conversations in the context of the workplace.

To provide practice using key phrases accurately.

Procedure (92-120 minutes)

Warmer/Lead-in (7-10 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T tries to elicit key phrases by asking Ss how they normally start conversations, how to show interest, and how to keep conversations going.

Review key expressions / Practice using them (25-30 minutes) • For Ss to review expressions and practice using them naturally

T shares screen and shows key expressions. T prompts 2 Ss to spontaneously start and continue a conversations and use the phrases they learned. T gives corrections if Ss use TL incorrectly. | T puts Ss into breakout rooms in pairs, then has them do the same thing. T monitors rooms, giving corrections when needed. | After 5-10 minutes, T has Ss switch partners and start a new conversations. | After another 5-10m, Ss switch partners one more time. | OCFB

Book exercises (60-80 minutes) • For Ss to practice appropriacy of phrases and use them accurately

T plays audio 2.4, then Ss do matching activity as a class. T continues working through book exercises, giving Ss a chance to practice all new content so they can internalize it.
