While-Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

Students read the questions in Part "2a" and listen to the recording for the first time. They identify what problems Simon and Claire had on their first day at work and decide what advice from the article in Part 1 they would give them. The teacher checks the answers with the whole class.

While-Listening #2 (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

Teacher let Students read the questions in Part "2b" and listen to the recording again. Teacher give them 2 minute to decide whether each statement refers to Simon (S), Claire (C), or both of them (B). Students compare their answers in pairs, and the teacher checks the answers with the whole class.

Post-Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Teacher ask students to discuss about Part "2c" in small groups: Have you ever had a problem on your first day in a new job, class, or school? What was it? Students share different experiences and opinions about problems people may face on their first day. The teacher elicits a few interesting answers from the whole class and briefly discusses the different experiences with the students.
