Description

In this lesson,students develop their listening skills through a listening about planning a vacation. the lesson starts with a discussion vacations,followed by a pre-lisening task in which students rank the things they think about when planning a vacation.they learn two key words before listening to justin. they first listen for the gist and then listen for specific information.

Main Aims

By the end of the lesson students will be able to listen for gist and specific information in talk about planning a vacation.

Subsidiary Aims

To provide their listening and they will be able to discuss their vacation and exprience

Procedure (24-29 minutes)

Warmer/Lead-in (4-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students and generate intrest in the topic and active students background knowledge.

i will show a picture and ask 1 do u like go on a vacation? when u think about a vacation,what is the first thing u think about? where do u like to go on vacations?

Pre-Reading/Listening (5-6 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

to active students background knowledge and prepare them for start listening. slide 4 i will ask 1 questions of them imagine u are planning your next vacation. look at these 4 qustions. put them in order from 1 to 4 ICQ are u putting the question in order ? are u doing it together first? Teach 2 new words in (pre-teach vocab)

While-Reading/Listening #1 (4-5 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

To listen fir the general meaning/gist. teacher asks: dies justin agree with your order? instruction: now listen to justin does he agree with your order?? ICQ: are u listening for every word? are u listening to check if justin agrees with your order.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (7-8 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

students listen again and make notes to answer the questions. do it individually. ICQ: do u need to listen for specific information? do u need to write full sentences?

Post-Reading/Listening (4-5 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Students discuss their opinions and personal exprience.
