Reading Lesson Plan
1. Practicing skimming and scanning skills in reading 2. Increasing Ss’ vocabulary guessing skills
1. Reinforcing students’reading comprehension skills through listening and speaking 2. Enhanching Ss’ reading comprehension skills such as skimming , scanning, and referencing 3. Enabling students to relate what they watched and read with what they produce
Procedure (45-55 minutes)
Students watch the video on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2X8Bd3-G6IU to answer a question. This is planned as a whole class activity.
Students discuss the questions in their groups of three to activate their schemata
1- Students will be asked to read the text silently first to answer the main idea question.
2- Students will be guided to do the skimming ans scanning exercises first. 3- They will be guided to do the referencing and vocabulary guessing exercises.
Students will be given a processed follow-up task. In the first step of the task, they interview with their classmates and teachers on the questions they are provided with. In the second step of the task they use the data they have collected and write a paragraph on the topic they have chosen. Finally they submit their paragraphs through its learning to get oral and / or written feedback on their writing feedback.
