Recognize and use vocabulary for common everyday objects when describing a room.

Listen to and identify the pronunciation of new vocabulary items.
Procedure (36-46 minutes)
Show the two pictures (tidy room and untidy room) p.14 Ask students: -What can you see? -Which room do you like? Why? -Is your room tidy or untidy?
Ask students to look carefully at both pictures. Say: “Work with your partner. Look at the two rooms. Can you name the things numbered 1–10?” Ask ICQs
-Go through each numbered object one by one. -Elicit the word whenever possible. -If students don’t know it, present it using the picture. -Write the word on the board. -Model the pronunciation. -Drill chorally and individually. -Check meaning with simple CCQs where needed. Example: Wallet - Is it for money? (Yes.) - Is it a bag? (No.) Etc
Students complete the Vocabulary Bank – Things (p.151). -Match the words to the pictures. -Ask ICQs -Pair-check, then whole-class feedback (play the audio).
Ask students to choose five objects from the pictures and tell their partner what they are. Ask ICQs Monitor and provide help if needed Whole-class feedback: Ask students to share one or two words their partner chose.
Tell students to stand up and move around the classroom. Ask three classmates about the things they have in their room. Use the vocabulary from today’s lesson. E.g. 'In my room, I have a lamp, bed, desk, etc.' Ask follow-up questions, such as: -Is your room tidy or untidy? -What color is your room? Ask ICQs. Monitor and provide help if needed. Whole class feedback.
