Show students a picture of an airport, train station or a bus station. Ask students: -Where are these places? -Have you ever heard announcements in these places? -What information do people usually hear in announcements? Elicit (gate number/platform/flight number/etc)

Pre-teach vocabulary Divide student into 2 groups, and give each group a set of definition cards. Stick the target vocabulary (gate, platform, flight, language school, announcement, etc) on the walls around the classroom. Tell students to discuss the definitions, walk around the classroom, and stick each definition card next to the correct vocabulary word. Ask ICQs Check answers as a class by going through each word and definition together. Ask CCQs to clarify any misunderstandings.

Exercise 5a Tell students ‘We’re going to listen to six announcements. Listen carefully and write the numbers 1-6 in the correct boxes. Create an announcement Give each pair a sheet of paper. In Pairs, create a short announcement including a place, a day, and a number. (E.g. airport, bus station, train station, cinema, etc) ‘’Attention, please. Flight 215 to Cairo departs from gate 6 on Monday.’’ Ask ICQs When they finish collect their announcements and stick them on the walls. Students walk around the classroom, read the announcements, and discuss with their partner: Where is this announcement? How do you know?
