Procedure (25-36 minutes)
In this stage, there will be a short conversation with the topic of hopes and dreams and the things the students have or have not experienced in order to get a glimpse of the new tense they are about to learn.
In this stage I will write some examples on the board to get students' attention on the TL.
In this stage, this tense will be clarified first by asking the students some CCQ questions with the help of example sentences written on the board: -Did this action or event happen in the past? Yes. -Does it mention an exact or definite time of this action or event? No. Then I will draw a time line to explain it thoroughly on the timeline for the students to understand when to use this tense and then I will move to writing and explaining the structure this tense in affirmative, negative and question form. There will be an explanation of the past participle form of the verbs and frequency expressions that are used often with present perfect. Lastly there will be a clarification on the difference between present perfect and simple past.
In this stage, students will answer book exercises individually and then the answer will be checked with the whole class.
In this stage, the students will have a conversation about their secret dreams and hopes this time using present perfect tense and adapting more to using it in their speaking.
