Main Aims

Procedure

Lead in/Warmer (1-2 minutes) • to set lesson context and engage Ss

I'll show the Ss two or three pictures ( Great Barrier Reef Austrailia, Grand Canyon USA, The South Island New Zealand), then i will elicit and ask questions ex: is there anyone who have been to one of these places etc.

Eliciting and teaching vocab. (5-7 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form, and pronunciation of the target language

I'll tell them that i am going to give them a cut-ups ( its about definitions) and they should work on it and match it with the words on the WB (a trip, a tour, travel, a journey.) then i will ask for one student of each group to come to the WB,match it and read the full definition. I'll give examples, then ask CCQ to be sure they understood. ex: is it a journey where you travelled from Istanbul to Ankara? yes. Is it a tour if you visit lots of places in Black sea like Sinop or Samsun? yes I'll pronounce the words and they repeat after me then ask them to put the stress.

Controled practice (3-5 minutes) • To make Ss practice what they learnt in the previous stage

I'll tell them to do ex1b in pair (chose the correct word) but before that I will ask ICQ to be sure they understand my instructions. In FB i will give them the answer key.

Pre-Reading/ teach vocab. (4-6 minutes) • make them know and understand the word ''holiday destination''

Elicit "holiday destination" ex; a place you choose to spend your holiday, and that place is .... . then i will make them repeat it after me, put the stress.

Reading for gist (4-6 minutes) • for students to develop the skill of skimming for main ideas

I'll make students to do ex2, which is reading a text then answer the questions. I will ask ICQ to be sure they understand me. then quick FB

Post reading (5-7 minutes) • Recognizing different different in the world

I will regroup the ss into 3 groups and show the pictures once again and tell them to do the ex3a then quick FB then ex3b, a quick FB

Monitoring (4-6 minutes) • to practice speaking

Give them a copy of ex7a pg118 and get them to work in groups I'll monitor and then get them to present what they heard from their partners
