upper intermediate level


In this lesson students are going to learn about adjective order and I am going to give some activities to whole class and peers work . They are going to be able to describe their dream , house , cars ..... etc and I will ask them some questions to check their understanding by giving them examples and asking them why do we say ( i am a nice tall old man ) instead of I am man tall young . or is it correct to say he is tall old a man and why ? they will learn new vocabulary through worksheets during the class and I will make sure to check their pronunciation.

Main Aims

  • my main aim is at the end of the lesson all the students will be able to describe things or people ......etc . I will make sure they do understand the sentence structure through CCQ and improve my students speaking and fluency skills/

Subsidiary Aims

  • teaching my students new vocabulary through contexts such as telling personal story and make them discuss their own idea throw making w/c or s-s .


Warmer/Lead-in (6-10 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

at this stage. I will start my class talking about movies and asking the class what is their favorite movie .Then, they will tell me about it after that the students will be divided into 3 or 4 groups and I tell them to describe their film in the group and i will give them a demo about my favorite film sush as an example-Kongo is a nice,long,old, black and white Korean film, so the students will discribe their film in the same way after the dissuction with their group . I will get some ideas from them .

preparing to speak (5-8 minutes) • provide ideas to speak

At this stage I will make my students to think about the adjectives of order through asking them about the sentence that i have written recently and talk about each adjective individually so make sure that they use them in correct way and after they understand i will ask them why film at the end of the sentence and why we can not write before the discretion words then i will draw a house on the board by showing them stages of the adjectives of order and witting the sentence step by step .

Useful Language (2-5 minutes) • clarification

The students will be given an task from the workbook and try to answer it and check it with their peer.

speaking task (15-17 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

I will re-group again and the students will be divided into 4 groups .Then i will give them 5 minutes to answer task number 1 and then i will show the answer on the W/B for saving more time and if there is a mistake or vocabulary that students do not understand , I will explain to them why .After task 1 , i will give task 2 which is motivating,students will write three sentences about well-known film or music or sports stars that they like and they have to describe them with as many adjectives as possible for 3 minutes . Then i will get some answers from the students .After task2 , i will start regroup the students into small groups and one of each group there will a student describing to his group a celebrity and his group must guess who is she or he .

Feedback and Error Correction (4-5 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language and writing

If there are errors i will correct them and give some feed back and check their understating . If there is no problem , we will play the adjectives game for 5 minutes .
