TT shows a photo to ss. They are supposed to describe it. TT helps the ss to use language for describing photos: in the background, in the centre... What language do we use when we describe photos? CCQ: Where is the man with the child? Is he in the front? Is he inside the house? Where is the woman? And where is the girl? What are their facial expressions? Ss are supposed to predict what is the story behind the photo. TT: In pairs, write what you think what is the story behind the photo. Brainstorm ideas. Feedback: ask ss to tell you their predictions Write their suggestions on the board.

Pre-teach some of the vocabulary from the text that they are supposed to read. Crouching - Show the ss photo and a man who is crouching. Get them to describe what is he doing. Tell them to use crouching in a sentence. Drill the sentence. Write it on the WB and stress. Speculate- CCQ: if I'm talking about something without knowing all of the facts, what does it mean? Ex, we talk about this photo but we don't know all the details. What can we speculate about? Drill: We speculate about the photo. Write on the WB and stress. Background - where are the boy and the man? In front? What else is in the background? Drill: They are in the background. Write on the WB and stress. Foreground - What is the opposite of the background? What else is in the foreground?Drill: the woman is in the foreground. Write on the wb and stress.

Give ss a text to see if their predictions were right. Read for 30 seconds, dont worry about the gaps. ICQ-What are you going to read? Why? Do you need to fill in the gaps? When they finish reading the text, they fill in the gaps. Work in groups. Fill in the gaps with a correct word/phrase. When they finish, give them a HO with the language they are supposed to use for photos and change their partners. Tell them to check each other's work. Check to see if they need more clarification.

TT divides ss into pairs. TT explains that ss are supposed to write captions for Instagram photos. Each caption is supposed to describe the photo using useful language. Every pair gets a different photo. When they finish, TT collects their captions and gives them to different pairs. Each pair is supposed to match caption with a photo on the WB.

TT check their captions and corrects them if needed.
