Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (10-12 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students with planning and visiting places

T will write the sentence on the WB and ask Ss how they find out about things to do in their city which is Istanbul in our case. I personally check the events in Facebook like Bomontiada (Bomonti) where they have free musical events and... Ss will watch list of short videos about 5 famous places in London to get an idea of what kind of places they are. Some blocking vocabulary will be pre-taught by teacher before moving to next stage of the lesson.

Pre-listening (10-15 minutes) • To make the Ss involved to the functional aspect of TL they have received in previous lessons. Also give an idea of the places a visitor might be interested in.

Ss will receive the HO1 which includes five questions about particular places in London.T will ask them to read the questions quickly in a limited time (1 minute) and make sure they all understand the information they are required. Then they will stand up and move around the class to read the flyers stuck on the walls including information about those places. They will read them quickly and find the answers. They will get back on their seats and write their answers. They will check the answers in groups of four and finally T will get a feed back for the questions from the whole class. It will be a quick feed back only to check that they are aware of the information and the usage of the functional language.

Listening (10-12 minutes) • To listen to an audio file ad fill in the missing parts.

T will show the HO2 and give the instructions to Ss: We will listen to the audio file and there are some missing parts.Listen carefully and write the words you hear in the blank spaces.More than one word is missing in some sentences so listen carefully and complete all the sentences. possible ICQ: Are we writing all the words we hear? [ No, just the missing ones] T will give the Ss HO2 and they will have a limited time to go through the questions and read them once. T will try to elicit some examples for missing parts to make sure that Ss understand the form and the meaning here. T: Look at the dialogue number one .What shall we do today? I'm not sure,. How about...? I don't really fell like... . T will then play the audio file and the Ss will listen and find out the answers. Ss will check the answers in pairs and in case there are some signs of confusion, replaying the file is a possibility. Ss will receive the Answer key which is stuck behind the chairs of some Ss while they were busy and were not aware.

Post listening (5-8 minutes) • To provide Ss a controlled practice of the conversation for the sake of fluency.

T will write a a sentence included in the conversation and practice the connected speech of the sentence with the Ss,T will use back chaining and drilling in this stage. Model sentence: Would you like to go to an exhibition? Ss will pair up and practice the conversation in pairs for one or two times. They will practice the functional language as well as the pronunciation.

Freer practice (10-15 minutes) • To provide the Ss with the chance of practicing what they have learned in a more freer context.

Ss will regroup and will receive the instructions to build up a same context about their own city. Instructions: Imagine your planning for a weekend in Istanbul and you only have 120 TL each.Talk together and decide which places you want to go and why. keep in mind that you only have 120 TL each. T will monitor the Ss while they talking to help them speak out their ideas, correct them where needed, and take notes for possible delayed corrections. Finally Ss will have the chance to share their interesting ideas with the class if possible.
