Productive Task(s) (10 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

T elicits presents and past tense from students T tells ss they are going to play a bingo game. T gives one Bingo card to each student and allows them a few moments to check the past tenses on their cards. T sits in front of the class with a copy of the Master bingo card, calls out the infinitives on the card in any order and cross them off the card at the same time. If a student has the past tense of the infinitive on his/her card, he/she should put a line through it. For example, if the teacher calls out buy, all the students with bought on their Bingo cards should cross it out. The first student who crosses out all the past tenses on his/her card is the winner.

Control Practise (10 minutes) • To practise speaking for fluency

T tells ss they are going to play another game (board game). It's about "When was the last time you......? and gives practice with the past time phrases. T demonstrate in front of the whole class; a student throws the die, lands on a square and asks a question, the answer includes a time phrase example; Last night, last year, last weekend, and so on. Then get the ss to ask some others to show a range of answers. Ss works with the past tense of the verbs on the board game. Example ate, swam, spent, cooked, rode, bought. Ss play the game in a group of four. T circulates, monitors and corrects errors for delayed feedback.
