Procedure

Introduction & Context (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Text/pre-teach vocabulary for receptive task (8-10 minutes) • check understanding of vocab

Highlighting Countable & Uncountable Nouns (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

T: HAND OUT 2 !! T: Partner, partner, partner, etc. Take 2 minutes to decide which is countable and which is not. T: Which set is countable (maybe circle boxes) Ss: Respond T: Which set is uncountable T: If meager class decision, make hash marks underneath countable and one big circle colored in under the uncountable as a visual

Clarification (5-6 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

Use the first clarification slide according to amount of understanding. T: Count the fruit items..."these are____?" Ss: Respond T: Can I count the tea inside this pot? Can I count the rice in this bowl? Can I count the wheat in my bread? T: Countable nouns can be singular or plural ex. I need an apple.
