Description

in this Lesson we will focus on the listening and speaking skills. first exercise will be warming up to lead the students into the context of the section. In the second one will try to make them speak about the characteristics of the good neighbours in pairs or in groups. Then in the third exercise the students will listen to two tap recordings, one is by Mrs. Crumble and the other is by Alfie. These two characters are neighbours and they speak about each other. The students will try to answer the questions they have in their HO about these two characters.since the TL is present tenses and have got, students will practice using them too.

Procedure

Lead-in (5-7 minutes) • to set lesson context and engage students

start with the questions where do you live and how many neighbors you have got then check pronunciation of the word Neighbour. then move to the questions in the Ex. 1 start it by answering the questions for myself then move to the students

Pre-Listening (4-6 minutes) • to predict the content of the listening

lead the students to exercise 2 read the descriptions of a good neighbor for them let the students work in pairs or in groups to discuss their ideas elicit a range of opinions and find out if there is any good or bad experience with neighbors before they listening part.

Listening part 1 (12-15 minutes) • provide student with challenging gist listening

start wit showing a picture of the Mrs Crumble and Alfie. then give the students their second HO, they should read the questions first. then after playing the record for the first time we put the students in groups to check their answers. we may need to play the recording again if needed

Listening Part 2 (10-12 minutes) • providing the students with challenging detailed listening

after listening to the first part and answering the questions we will will let the students answer the same questions but depending on the second recording from Alfie's point of view. again the students in groups we may need to play the recording twice too.

Post-Listening (5-7 minutes) • to provide them with the opportunity to expand what they have leaned

in groups Ss discuss who they think is telling the truth then each group report back to the class.

Pre-Listening (5-7 minutes) • to express what they have learned

students play the role of Alfie and Mrs Crumble in pairs in front of the class
