To provide gist reading practice using a text about Brotherly Love? in the context of family
To provide practice of deducing meaning from the context 'Brotherly Love?'
To revise & practice collocation in the context of family
Procedure (30-40 minutes)
Students will be divided in 3 groups. They will look and observe the photo on the screen. Students will go around the class to look at the words on the wall. They will decide what the connection might be and use post it to write. In the end they will share their idea with the whole class.
students will be given a handout of the article 'Brotherly Love?' Students will read the article individually and check if their ideas were right about the picture. They will answer true and false questions IND and share the answers with W/C. In pairs they will deduce the meaning of the words given in the same handout by reading the particular sentence again.
in pairs students will retell the story using the phrases from ex.2 and the words from ex.6
