Description

In this lesson students are going to learn some vocabulary about colors and clothes through some pictures and some real materials. the lesson starts with a funny video to help students engage. this followed by presenting the colors and the clothes. Finally there is some controlled practice through matching words with colors and clothes and free practice via a final role play speaking activity.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To engage students and perpare student for the lesson.

show students a funny video. repeat the word hamburger. ask student about their names.

presentation or clarification about the vocabulary of colors (5-8 minutes) • to expose the student to the target language through some pictures and to have student practice the pronunciation of new vocabulary.

show students colored paper and elicit the color. say the color ex (red) ask them to listen then repeat. use variety of drilling.

Controlled Practice (2-5 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

hand students a matching handout. give short and simple instruction by using miming and gestures. monitoring. give feedback.

Clarification (5-8 minutes) • To clarify the vocabulary of clothes with colors and to have students practice the pronunciation of new vocabulary.

show students some pictures on the projector about some colored clothes. elicit the names. first presenting the name of the clothes e.g. shoes then say it with color e.g black shoes. use variety of drilling.

Semi-Controlled Practice (2-4 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

hand student a choosing handout. give clear instruction using miming and gestures. monitoring. student give feedback.

Free Practice (5-8 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

show on the board " what color of clothes do you like?......i like color cloth, e.g. i like red dress. modelling, giving example. student work in pairs, student 1 ask his partner what color of clothes do you like? then teacher ask student 1 to answer what color of clothes does his friend like? showing example.
