Description

In this lesson,students learn about family tree by using visual methods guided students to know the meaning of the vocabulary . this lesson start by talking about our family through using our name's to define the meaning and students listening to the pronounce oh these words and try to mommies the words to students, finally there is some control practice through match the words with the picture and free practice by talking about relationship with our family.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Draw a caricature on the board and talk with me and ask me Hi , how are you ? what is your name ?and i answer and students do like me . Tell students to '' write your names on a piece of paper and put your name tags in front of them on the desk''.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

After memorizing their names. Show them colorful pictures of our family my mother, father, grandparents, sister , cousin. and then ask ss to exposure ,what do you think about this picture ? ss try to thinking about who is in this picture Elicit the Wh questions on colored papers on walls in the classroom.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

show ss pic of family tree on board and Give out Worksheet of Family tree. Students will write the names of the Family using the information box below the tree. Then they will write the family title names .

Clarification (10-15 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

Teacher Show ss pic of father ,mother ,grand father ,grand mother, uncle, unit and cousin . Teacher pronounce the vocab and ss drill vocab. Teacher ask ss what is your father name? Ss answer my father name ..... Teacher show ss the form of vocab and ss drill it . Ss say the vocab by them self's Teacher tell ss how to use possessive s . Ss tell teacher the missing vocab or pic on the board..

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Teacher hand ss a matching task by match words with pictures . Teacher do a model for ss. Ss work alone and teacher monitor. Ss check in pairs and teacher monitor.. Teacher feedback .

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

Hand a task to ss, fill in the gap by copy the word up the task to the sentence. Ss work alone . Ss work in pairs. Teacher monitor ss. Feedback. .

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Hand ss a task in free practice with the context about relationship between family members, Ex. I like my father. I laugh with my brother. Ss work alone. Ss work in pairs. Feedback.
