Donia, Teaching Practice 8
Elementary (A1) level

Description

In this lesson, students are going to learn about "be going to" for future plans. The lesson starts with a task which they have to remember what was people's new year's resolution from the previous lesson. Then, they get the listening's transcript and they have to find all of the sentences with "be going to". They check their answers in pairs and the teacher gets feedback. The students get a handout which they have to complete some rules and a table about "be going to" by looking at the sentences from one of the listening tasks in the previous lesson. They check their answers in pairs and the teacher checks their understanding. Then, they practice the pronunciation of the sentences with the stressed parts as well. For controlled practice, the students get a gap fill handout from the teacher which they do it by themselves and check their answers in pairs. The teacher asks the students to come to the board and complete the table. For the next exercise, they have to think about the listening from the previous lesson and decide who said these sentences. They check their answers in pairs and the teacher gets feedback. For freer practice, the teacher makes two lines of the students (face to face) and asks the students to tell their weekend plans to each other. The teacher changes the people who are standing in front of each other and this goes till all of the class has talked with each other. Then the teacher puts the students in two groups and asks them to decide who has the most interesting plan for the weekend. The teacher monitors the students and if they have any mistakes using the target language (be going to), the teacher does some delayed error correction.
