In this lesson students will: Define personality adjectives. Identify adjectives in context. Match adjectives with meanings. Apply adjectives to describe people. Create sentences using new adjectives.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Start the lesson by showing the students a picture of prince Mohamad Who is that? What do think about him? How would you describe his personality? Discuss in pairs Feedback

Exposure (3-5 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Give students a text that includes the provided vocabulary.

Highlighting (1-2 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

Ask the students: What is this text mostly about? What kind of person is the friend?

Clarification (4-6 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

Elicit the meanings of the adjectives through images and videos. What is that? What do you see? Can you use this adjective to make a sentence? End the clarification with a quick test on WordWall

Controlled Practice (7-9 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Give students handouts in which they have to match adjectives with their meanings. Demo 1 answer with the students. Give them 5 minutes to do the task.

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

Give ss crossword puzzles. Divide them to A and B. Group A try to mimic and use gestures to show their adjectives to group B and vice versa Group A is going to write their words in the puzzle then try to describe them to B . B is going to do the same. Demo for them. Pair A with B. Display the Answer Key on the board

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Tell the students to Imagine that they have a friend / brother / sister and he/she has no friends, he/she wants them to find a friend for him/her. To Think about how they will describe their friend/brother/sister to their classmates, may be someone will like the person that they are describing and ask them to meet him /her Help them with suggesting sentences written in the projector. Give them 5 minutes to know what to talk about. In pairs students describe the person that they chose.
