Main Aims

  • To provide fluency and accuracy speaking practice in a in conversations, both telephonic and face to face when using phrases for permission, necessity and prohibition in the banking sector.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide review and practice of language used when telephoning plus telephone etiquette.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (10 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Block vocab: minimum / maximum overdraft / overdraft facility access balance transaction interest rate statements

Task Setting & Planning (10 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Create pairs - identify Caller A's and Caller B's A to read Pg 115 B to read Pg 123 to familiarise terms and conditions.

Productive Task(s) (15 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Each student to practice at being Caller A and B

Feedback (10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language
