Procedure (107-120 minutes)
"Correct or Incorrect?" Teacher says sentences like: -I am work. -She is working. -They works. Students: -Raise their right hand = correct -Raise their left hand = incorrect Then correct together as a class.
Vocabulary: plan, schedule change, time slot, next week, tomorrow, vaccination, fleas, ticks, mites / mange, heartworm -Teacher writes each word on the board. -Teacher gives one clear example sentence per word. -Students repeat pronunciation chorally and individually. -Each student produces one sentence per word.
The teacher presents model sentences on the board representing Present Simple, Present Continuous, and verb to be. Students identify differences in meaning and usage through guided questions. The teacher highlights structure, focusing on form and word order. Students repeat sentences chorally and individually to reinforce accuracy.
Students complete a structured written exercise focusing on correct verb forms. They work individually. The teacher monitors closely, then conducts whole-class feedback, eliciting correct answers and reinforcing form through repetition.
Students work in pairs to ask and answer simple questions using target structures. The interaction is highly structured with short responses. The teacher monitors, supports when necessary, and selects a few pairs to demonstrate for the class.
