Main Aims

  • To provide accuracy speaking practice in a Conversation in the context of Routine Activities

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide clarification of Yes/No Question in the context of Routine Activities.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (10-15 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Tell Ss to look at the title of the lesson on page 36 part1 Building Vocabulary ,and to look at the pictures. T says: "Every week, I clean the house ,etc." and point to its picture. Ask Ss to talk about the Pics based on the real life of themselves and check the things they do Every Week, then complete the chart on part B . Now Ss sit in Groups talk about their Weekdays Activity. T does modeling for e.g. I go shopping on Thursdays. (Pre-Teach blocking vocabulary : do the laundry) ask for some CCQs & ICQs. Part B ,Building Language , In this part T asks Ss to answer the Questions on part A first, then go round the Class and ask each other, take notes of their classmates answer and ask them to keep the answers.

Exposure (5-8 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

In this part T. asks Ss to give more information about their answers, T. does modeling , for e.g. Do you take a class on evening ? Yes I do, I go to English class. Ss do in pairs.

Highlighting and Clarification (3-5 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

As the Engagement part for Grammar on page 37, T. asks Ss to read some of the Qs, writes them on the board , Elicits the answrs and the Form . Ask some CCQs & ICQs to make it clear.

Controlled Practice (10-15 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Part A on Grammar , T. asks Ss to answer the exercises, then checks in Class. Now she calls out one of the Ss, asks a Question , the S answers and then that S. calls out another classmate ' s name ask and answer, and this circle contunes to finish the 10 sentences as the Activation part for Grammar. Now for Part 4 , Class Survey , T. asks Ss to seat face to face, write the question to ask their face to face partner and write her name to complete the chart. Now Ss stand up go round the class and find the classmate who does the things in the chart, and then one by one they five feedback to the class, T. just does monitoring.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

As the free practice T. asks some volunteers to "play pantomime" , the class should guess the complete sentence. Another game for this part is "Back to Board" game, one of the Ss sits back to the board , the other writes a sentence, and the class help her to guess the sentence.
