Main Aims

  • To provide gist reading practice using a text about Bed and Breakfast in the context of two hotel advertisement

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a Information about hotel I stayed in in the context of travel and hotel

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

1-I will connect my conversation context to previous lessons that Nesrin and Stephen did about weather and past tense was and were by asking : -Did you travel? -Where did you stay? -Have you ever stayed in the hotel or motel?Who?and Where ? -Was is good place? -Was it expensive? - some other situational questions 2-I will draw (or give them) a diagram about Hotel royal Ask them to listen to me a story and retell: I stayed at the Hotel Royal .It was a terrible hotel.The receptionist was very unfriendly,and receptionist area was not clean.The dinning room was terrible .The chair were uncomfortable.The food was not cooked very well.My bedroom was very small and noisy.There was a bed and a table ,but there was not any other furniture .It was terrible .. 3-Ask them to work in pairs and retell the story by looking at the diagram get feed back by asking to say it chorally (I can give them the transcript of what I say if they have problem)

Pre-Reading (speaking part as pre-reading) (5-10 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

5-Speaking part 1 and 2 As instruction: I model the conversation with my experience Ask them to complete it by themselves-I Monitor as feed back: I ask them have look at their partner's answers and talk about it for class

While-Reading#1 (15-20 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

6-reading part 1: instruction : look at the picture and describe them and I give them pictures students look and describe and I help them by question if they need and elicit the answers:monitoring and a feed back 7- Instruction :read this text quickly and talk about it in pair (which hotel do you like best?) and I give them the texts of hotel adds. Monitor : students work in pairs and ask and answer each other. feedback :I ask class: -which hotel do you like more? student answer to class 8-Reading part 2: Instruction :now read the text again and mark the correct answers (I give them hand outs) answers: 1 S 2 CSC 3 BOTH 4 CSC 5 BOTH 6 S Monitor :student do in pair feedback :I get whole class feed back 9-Reading part 3 Instruction : work in pair and complete part 3 from the reading Monitor :student find them and write feedback :ask for whole class feed back

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned
