Description

In this lesson, students will learn how to talk about breakfast through a controlled listening practice. SS will be introduced to relevant vocabulary related to "breakfast". then they will practice listening skills by listening to an audio about types of breakfast. this followed by speaking activity by which they will be given an opportunity to develop oral fluency.

Main Aims

Procedure

Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

-Teacher will project 6 labeled pictures and asks students the following questions: * What are these pictures? *What is you favorite meal? *Why do you prefer that meal? What do you usually have for breakfast? - Teacher gives student a chart where they have to work in pairs fill in the chart with letters A.B.C.... Teacher asks students to write their answers on the board as a feedback.

Pre-teach vocabulary. (1-7 minutes) • To pre teach key vocabulary to help students understand the next task..

-Teacher gives students handout 2 which includes a matching exercise. - Teacher asks students to work in pairs and match the words to the right pictures. - As a feedbsack, the the teacher asks students to go around the classroom and check their answer.

While-Listening (1-3 minutes) • To encourage students listen for gist and genral meaning.

Teacher plays the the audio and then asks students the following question: * What meal was mention in the audio? * Teacher gives the answer as a feedback.

While-Listening (8-15 minutes) • To provide a controlled listening practice for specific information.

Task 1: -Teacher gives student ho3 and asks the to listen to the audio and put the words in order from one to four. - Students are asked to check their answers with their partner. - the teacher projects an answer key as a feedback. Task 2: -The teacher gives students ho4 which includes a chart of the four dishes. - The teacher asks students to listen to the audio and then work in groups to fill in the chart with the ingredients of the four dishes. - teacher asks one of each group to go another classroom and get the right answers.

Post-Listening (8-15 minutes) • To provide a freer speaking practice to devlop oral fluency on the topic.

- Teacher asks students to work in pairs and take turns to ask each other what do they have for breakfast. - Teacher gives Ho 5 which includes ' Find some who ....' - Teacher asks student to mingle and talk to each other.
