Description

In this lesson, students are introduced to Ollie (the course mascot), Lisa and Danny. Students learn about physiscal characteristics and introduce themselfs with it. This is followed by ways of describing hair with long or short and the colour of it.

Main Aims

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide process writing practice of a learning how to write what they're watching or saying

Procedure

Presentation (18-25 minutes) • To learn new words such as hello, what´s your name, how are you...

Make them sit in chairs and form a circle, make them introduce themselves, ask them what they like for further classes. Make a little game with a song (maybe idk).

Presentation of the book and the characters in it (5-10 minutes) • Difference the genres (boy and girl)

Make the student open their books and show them the picture of the page 3, and make them say (help them if it's necessary) which one is a girl and which one is a boy.

Talking about physical characteristics and hair colour (20-30 minutes) • To learn words such as eyes, hair, blonde, black, blue, brown and green

Use the book and tell them what is hair and what are eyes (could use body language and ask them what are those parts). Use flashcards and photos to teach about hair colours.

Game (18-20 minutes) • Know if the childrens are keeping what they've learned in the class

Give each one of the students an animated picture of a boy and a girl apart from the colours of the hairs, and tell them to colour them. After this tell each other to exchange and tell which one is a boy and a girl apart from saying it's hair colour.

If there´s time left (10-15 minutes) • Draw

Open Student's book at page 4 and tell the children o draw and colour a picture of Ollie (show Ollie on the screen so they can try to copy him). If they do not finish ask them to finish it in their house.
